Tim is a registered Patent Attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is admitted to practice in State and Federal Courts in Michigan. Tim specializes in the procurement of intellectual property, with an emphasis on patent procurement. His emphasis includes procurement of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and process patents, as well as design patents. Tim has been named in Best Lawyers in America and as one of West Michigan's Best Lawyers by Grand Rapids Magazine.

Prior to beginning his legal practice, Tim obtained extensive experience in the automotive industry while working as an engineer at General Motors Corporation. During his six years at General Motors Corporation, Tim worked as a product development and test engineer for brake systems at General Motors' Milford Proving Grounds and then as a project release engineer for transmission shift systems at General Motors' Lansing Automotive Division
